MadBum's Potential Landing Spots Outside Of His NTC

Posted by Noah Wright on

By: Noah Wright   Giants’ veteran left hander, Madison Bumgarner is all but confirmed to be on the trade block this coming deadline, or even sooner. At this point, MadBum is a rental. He is on the last part of an extremely team friendly contract, and with the Giants likely going to be entering a full rebuild, he’s one of their most valuable resources right now. While Bumgarner isn’t the pitcher he once was, he’s still an effective asset. Even though he has a 4.05 ERA and 1.4 HR/9,  the former ace has a solid 3.87 FIP, 1.200 WHIP, 3.84...

Madison Bumgarner's No Trade Clause Is Genius

Posted by Noah Wright on

By: Noah Wright   Giants’ lefty starter Madison Bumgarner has a partial no trade clause in his contract. On Saturday, Ken Rosenthal reported 8 teams are part of his NTC. This includes the Braves, Phillies, Red Sox, Cubs, Astros, Yankees, Brewers, and Cardinals. MadBum had chose these teams because they are teams that are in contention. While it seems strange, it’s a very smart move. Now before I get into why it’s extremely smart what Bumgarner is doing, if you are a fan of any of the teams he can turn down a trade from, you are likely one of...

Giants Pitcher Jeff Samardzija Supports Elimination Of Extra Innings, Games Ending In Ties

Posted by Noah Wright on

By Daniel Wilkins The baseball world has been shaken up and split on the recent rule changes enacted by the gargoyle of a commissioner that is Rob Manfred. You can’t forget that this is just the calm before the storm, and newer things like a pitch clock might be coming in 2020. While these rule-related talks are going on, Giants pitcher Jeff Samardzija is throwing his hat in the ring with his own creative idea: If the game is tied at the end of the ninth inning, the game ends in a tie. No more extra innings. While this might...

Bryce Harper? Nah. How About Ferguson?

Posted by Dawson Wright on

By: Dawson Wright Yesterday was MLB’s annual Rule 5 Draft, and surprisingly, the Giants made two selections. The first one being left-handed reliever Travis Bergen from the Blue Jays, and the other being Andrew (Drew) Ferguson from the Astros. Bergen was a great pick, and can be very useful in the Giants pen, especially if they decided to trade Will Smith, who the Cardinals have been pressing hard for. However, I really want to focus in on the Giants 2nd round pick, Drew Ferguson. Unfortunately for Drew, he was never able to make it to a stacked major league roster...

Are The Giants And Sonny Gray A Match?

Posted by Dawson Wright on

The Yankees are all but confirmed to trade Sonny Gray, and the Giants could be a good fit for the right-hander.   By: Noah Wright It’s pretty clear that Sonny Gray’s value couldn’t be lower than after 2018. The Yankees have already stated that they’ll be trying to deal Gray over the off season, and it could even more likely that they’ll bring CC Sabathia back, as he’s stated that he is willing to return, even after knee surgery. So when I look at potential fits for Sonny Gray, I think The Giants are one of the best fits for...
