Greg Holland And Diamondbacks Agree To 1 Year Deal

(PHEONIX) - On Wednesday, The Diamondbacks agreed to terms with free-agent reliever Greg Holland, a source confirmed to MLB.com’s Steve Gilbert The club hasn’t confirmed the agreement. The deal is reportedly worth $3.5 million and includes an additional $3.5 million in incentives, according to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman. 1st reported by Ken Rosenthal and Robert Murray, the deal is Pending a physical. Holland split time between the Cardinals and Nationals in 2018. The 33 year old struggled mightily during his time in St.Louis, posting an atrocious 7.92 ERA in 32 appearances and walking 22 batters in 25 innings before being released in August. Things turned around for Holland when he was signed with Washington on on August 7th. In 24 appearances for the Nats, Holland had an exceptional 0.84 ERA with 25 strikeouts and 10 walks in 21 1/3 innings. Holland won 2017 NL Comeback player of the year, when he was an all-star and led the league with 41 saves for the Rockies. He was an all-star for the royals from 2013-2014, during which he saved a combined 93 saves.
