With the likes of Bryce Harper, Manny Machado, and Craig Kimbrel in the free agents list, it is easy to overlook many players with great use and talent. There's still multitude of great and useful players that your team could sign and not break the bank.
Jed Lowrie, 2B
Jed Lowrie has come off a wonder season. Although 35 years old, he had a 4.9 WAR. He is solid offensively and defensively. Has come off a season with an .801 OPS, a .267 average, and 23 home runs. Lowrie’s value will only rise as the market for second basemen drys up.
Matt Davidson, DH 1B/3B
The 27 year old was non-tethered by the White Sox earlier this offseason (which blows off my mind). Hit 20 Home Runs. .419 Slugging percentage. Had a .949 fielding percentage. An all around solid defensive and offensive player. He has that utility ability. Can play on both corners of the infield as well as take the roll of the DH hitter.
Dallas Keuchel, RHP
The 31 year old has entered free agency after some good seasons which have surely risen his value immensely. Part of 2017 WS winning team, Keuchel is a good pitcher and could surely make your rotation better. Keuchel finished the season with a 3.6 WAR. 3.74 ERA, 153 strike outs, and a 1.31 WHIP. Sure his performance has dropped since 2017 but that is expected from after WS winning year. Keuchel could fill up the veteran role in a lineup and provide great experience and ability to whichever team he goes to.
