Mike Trout's Greatness Simplified Into One Article

Posted by Noah Wright on

By: Noah Wright   Mike Trout is one of the most underappreciated players in the entire MLB. He’s just not as popular as guys such as Bryce Harper, or Aaron Judge. It kind of shows itself in jersey sales. Entering 2019, Trout wasn’t #1 (Harper), #2 (Judge) or #3 (Mookie Betts). He was ranked at #4. It was even worse after 2017 when he had the 8th highest selling jersey. But regardless, his greatness in baseball far surpases his popularity among current baseball players. Put this into perspective. Mike Trout is currently top 100 all time in bWAR with a...

Joey Gallo; Now With Batting Average

Posted by Noah Wright on

By: Noah Wright   Entering the season, Joey Gallo didn’t really have that high of expectations. Hit barely above the mendoza line, draw a decent amount of walks, play some solid defense and crush the ball at superhuman rates. Really, the only flaw Gallo had was the fact he pulled the ball all the time, and his average always hovered around the mendoza line. However, he’s perfected something that has taken him to the next level. After 2 full MLB seasons, Joey Gallo has finally figured out how to hit for some batting average. Now to start, it’s kind of...

Could This Be The Astros Year?

Posted by Noah Wright on

By: Noah Wright   The Astros are off to a blazing start. They enter Friday with a 29-15 record. Now that’s pretty impressive, but their offense is absolutely amazing. Between Carlos Correa, Alex Bregman, Josh Reddick, Robinson Chirinos, Michael Brantley, and George Springer, the lowest OPS out of that bunch is Reddick at .832. Even then, he’s getting on base at a .388 clip, and providing his usual outstanding outfield defense (4 DRS, .8 UZR, .3 dWAR). When Jose Altuve comes back healthy, you could add another great bat to that line-up. The bullpen has also been stellar. Behind closer...

Madison Bumgarner's No Trade Clause Is Genius

Posted by Noah Wright on

By: Noah Wright   Giants’ lefty starter Madison Bumgarner has a partial no trade clause in his contract. On Saturday, Ken Rosenthal reported 8 teams are part of his NTC. This includes the Braves, Phillies, Red Sox, Cubs, Astros, Yankees, Brewers, and Cardinals. MadBum had chose these teams because they are teams that are in contention. While it seems strange, it’s a very smart move. Now before I get into why it’s extremely smart what Bumgarner is doing, if you are a fan of any of the teams he can turn down a trade from, you are likely one of...

Is This Finally Joey Gallo's Breakout Season?

Posted by Noah Wright on

By: Noah Wright   I think we’ve all ragged about Joey Gallo in one way or another. There are plenty of things about Gallo that make him an interesting character. For one, he’s the definition of modern three true outcomes, he had nearly 100 home runs before 1 sac fly, he is one of the most shifted on batters in the MLB. But Gallo has never broken out fully in the MLB. Sure he’s had some solid seasons, but nothing that that has lived up to the potential he had in the minors. Before he made the MLB, Gallo was...
